Cost (time) for 1 hour of video c1995

5 Mbits/s * 60s/min * 50 min = 15,000 Mbits (1.875 Gbytes)

15,000 Mbits @ 28.8 Kbits / s = 520,833.3 s = 144.7 hours

At 128 Kbits/ sec = 32 hours

At 1.5 Mbits/sec = 2.7 hours

Notes:

If you want high quality video, it takes 5 megabits a second. This takes up 1.9 Gigabytes for an hour long video. Transferring it at 28.8 takes 144 hours. You get that hour in a week . So you get ISDN, big deal, why I can get the hour in a little over a day. If we had 1.5 Megabit T1 then we get it in 2.7 hours. None of those are satisfactory, of course.
